What is a decent work from home company and not a scam?
I’m a single mother and want to start a work from home business preferably in medical billing but at this point I will do anything that is not a scam and has a low startup cost of $400 or less.

I am not too sure what you meant by medical billing… but I can suggest you few ways to work from home and make some decent money, you can probably start with Google adsense, I have been doing this for 8 months now and the results are amazing, it requires NO big invested at all. they send you timely cheques to your home, you need to be truthful to them always with adsense.

Medical billing can be a work at home career however have you looked into medical transcription? More transcriptionists work from home than billers but some billers do work from home. You will need training however and that will cost you more than $400. Some schools do have payment plans and scholarships that may help you. At least this would be in a legitimate field though. Nothing like online survey takers or envelope stuffers.

I received the same scam from Magic-Services.com! They ask you to work for them for two weeks to see if you are qualified and state they will pay you $1,000.00 for that job. The first assignment is to research car services in your area, the second is to find a translator in Phoenix, AZ, and the last is to contact a European art gallery to replace a painting for a “V.I.P.” client. The painting will cost around $7,000 and they will state the client is including a $350.00 bonus for you and then want you to Western Union the rest of the money to the art gallery in Europe for the painting and shipping. They will ask for your bank account information WITH A DIRECT DEPOSIT FORM! It looks legit but IT IS NOT! The money they wire to your account is NO GOOD and after you pull the funds from your account and Western Union it the bank will be looking at you for that money! STAY AWAY FROM MAGIC SERVICES! I was lucky and scared them off before they got me, but some people I have met were not so lucky and they ended up with pay check garnishments and even having to go court. Some have even been to jail!
